Research Description

Yang Lu is currently “HKU-100 Scholar” Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Prof. Lu’s research focuses on experimental micro/nanomechanics. He has published more than 200 articles in leading academic journals including Science, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Materials, Nature Communications and Science Advances. Professor Lu serves as an associate editor for journal Materials Today, as well as a board member for academic journals such as National Science Review, Science China Technological Sciences, and Acta Mechanica Sinica. Prof. Lu is a recipient of UGC Early Career Award 2013/14, the inaugural NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Hong Kong and Macau) 2019 and RGC Research Fellow scheme (RFS) 2020/21. He is an elected member of the Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences (YASHK) in 2022.
