Central Research Facility
The Central Research Facility Center houses state-of-the-art spectroscopy, imaging, and biological equipment on a dedicated floor of the MILES building. A professional team operates the facility efficiently and professionally to ensure safety and reliability, providing strong support to various projects. A list of shared equipment can be viewed here.
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Lab
A unique feature of MILES facility is that it houses a GMP laboratory equipped with advanced chemical and biomedical reagent production instruments. It is intended to facilitate rapid biotech translation of novel drugs, imaging agents and vaccines.
Laboratory Animal Center
One of the floors of the MILES building houses a boutique animal facility for preclinical research with mice and rats. It offers care for animals and services including imaging, animal handling training, and measurements for animal well-being and behavior. Professional teams provide animal protocol evaluation and enforcement and high-quality animal care services.
Biosafety Level-2 Lab
A shared BSL-2 lab is available for research of infectious diseases.
Biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) covers all laboratories that work with agents associated with human diseases — that is, pathogenic or infectious organisms — that pose a moderate health hazard. Common examples of agents found in a BSL-2 lab include equine encephalitis viruses, HIV, and staphylococcus aureus (staph infections).
