He shares this honor with Professors Susumu Kitagawa of Kyoto University and Richard Robson of the University of Melbourne for their pioneering contributions to the development of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the award on October 8, 2025.
